First of all, the sound quality is leagues ahead of MuseScore – it’s simply amazing! However, there are quite a few bugs that need addressing. Standard quarter notes without articulation are played far too short, as if they were staccato. When a tenuto line is added, the sounds become overly aggressive, blasting out like a Formula 1 car and practically damaging the listening experience.
Moreover, the trumpets and solo horn feel too thin in tone. At FFF dynamics, the volume, especially for the solo horn, is underwhelming and doesn’t deliver the power you’d expect. These issues represent about 30% of the overall problems I’ve noticed.
Considering the reputation of a brand like Spitfire and the price point of their products, this is quite disappointing.
Conclusion: While the sound itself is fantastic, updates are urgently needed, particularly in the articulation department.
