So how do Muse Sounds work? Check out our introductory film & step-by-step guide below.

Get started

Step 1: If you haven't already, download the Muse Hub store from musehub.com

Step 2: Follow the installation instructions to set up Muse Hub on your desktop device. Once installed, open the store and download MuseScore Studio for free.

Step 3: In Muse Hub, go to the Muse Sounds section. Click "Free" to download selected Muse Sounds libraries from Muse Group, a great place to start. Or buy premium collections from Spitfiire Audio, Orchestral Tools, Cinesamples and more.

Step 4: Once the Muse Sounds have successfully downloaded, launch MuseScore Studio. It will automatically detect and integrate the new sounds.

Step 5: In MuseScore Studio, create a new score and select the instruments you want to include. Muse Sounds will be automatically assigned to the appropriate instruments, but you can assign sounds yourself in the mixer. This is useful if, for example, you have multiple virtual sounds of the same instrument.

Step 6: Open the Mixer (press the shortcut F10) in MuseScore Studio to see and adjust the Muse Sounds assigned to each instrument, in the row labelled 'Sound' This view allows you to fine-tune the playback for your composition — adjust channel volume, add effects or more.

And the all-important final step, enjoy!
